Story to be continued…

Story to be continued…

Some stories need to be ended before the time just so time can’t spoil the ending. It was something like that for Ted and Alexis in Schitt’s Creek. Their breakup came like a plot twist that none of us had imagined. It left a lasting impression on our hearts. It also made us realize that not always endings turn out to be fairytales. Some people simply enter our lives to help us discover who we are, and they leave after their purpose has been fulfilled. We can’t do anything about that but let them go; just as Ted and Alexis did to each other. They gracefully respected each other’s priorities and accepted what came next. They showed us that love can be this beautiful if we just let it be and not all separations are led by disagreements; sometimes it is also a silent understanding of the happiness and dreams of your partner and the importance it holds to them.

“Not every story ends on a happy note

Yet, the ending is somehow still complete”

Though the tale was fictional, it taught us a valuable lesson of reality that life doesn’t always turn out the way we expect. We all have to make tough decisions from time to time; it’s just a part of life. Despite this, we must retain our courage and do what needs to be done. Life is a fleeting journey, and along the way, we meet many fellow travellers, some for a little moment while others for a longer period with the intent of bidding them farewell when the time is due. There can be love but staying together might not be the option. Partings are acceptable when love has faded from a relationship, but such heartbreaks are the most painful when love is evergreen and poised to bloom. Maybe that is why it felt to all of us who witnessed it. However, there are times when we must surrender to time. Rather than going against time, it is better to go along with it. Ted and Alexis might eventually find their way to each other again, or they might not, but either way, all they did was what the present moment asked for. I suppose that sums up life.

To end with, it reminds me of one of the famous sher of Sahir Ludhianvi that goes like,

“vo afsāna jise anjām tak laanā na ho mumkin

use ik ḳhūb-sūrat moḌ de kar chhoḌnā achchhā”
