Surrender vs Control

I want you to take a moment and reflect on life. Ask yourself: Has your life ever gone exactly as you planned? Even a single situation has unfolded just as you thought it would? Were you able to control your life?

We know by now that life is not something we can control, yet we continue to try. Why? Is there happiness in it? I believe not! Then why do we choose to do so? Is it easier? I don’t think so. Is it relaxing? I believe it’s stressful instead. So why do we persist?

Why do we even entertain the thought that life will go according to our plans? We believe we have control over our lives, yet we don’t even have control over our breath, which can be taken from us at any moment!

How nice it would be to learn to surrender rather than control! Imagine the difference it could make in our lives. Wouldn’t it pave the way for happiness, peace, and contentment? Surrendering to situations and doing what needs to be done is what life is all about. Surrendering isn’t giving up; it’s accepting the flow of life and trusting that things will unfold as they should. This willingness to surrender allows us to respond to life with grace, creating space for growth and true joy.

But when we choose to control, we tend to lose life—we miss the moments it has to offer.

Why do we think we are the best planners out there? We can try our best, but plans don’t always turn out perfectly! However, there is someone who is the greatest planner of all our lives; all we need to do is surrender to Him. Yes, it’s not easy to let go when you can hold on, but holding on too long will eventually cause pain. Instead, set it free—cherish the freedom!
